Ahnentafel FACET # 5.6 Family Group Record, and Henry Numbering |
The Ancestry Chart helps a person see more clearly their ancestry - not just some of it. The Family Group Record can help with collecting a whole family (at first perhaps then again when it gets more difficult). The Henry Numbering System is good to use for Family Reunions. People can match their number up with others present.

Processing your raw data into these charts and files helps you see your family better, especially for when thinking about writing up the family's history.
Some genealogy packages (e.g. PAF, Family Tree maker, etc) can generate some of these charts. Some packages have custom lists, which once generated can be manipulated in an excel/spread sheet file, e.g. the birth order list. There may be other useful Pre-Writing Charts? |
