Genealogy/family history appears to be a science where expertise is needed. FACETS OF GENEALOGY is an overview of genealogy/family history. It uses the ELEMENTS only. (You will need to read elsewhere for what is intended, if you are not familiar with the subject. [See bibliography.]) The 10 rules below are so important. This overview will help you understand why. The terminology and definitions need to be standardised. Some people will know these elements by different names/terminology. Those of you who are really NEW TO GENEALOGY/FAMILY HISTORY may also need to attend a course in genealogy/family history.
